Wimborne residents and visitors are invited to enjoy a fascinating evening with one of Britain’s most respected journalists and broadcasters, Kate Adie, on Friday 17 July at the Allendale Community Centre.

The audience can look forward to a captivating and insightful event as Kate shares remarkable stories from an extraordinary career spent reporting from the heart of some of the world’s most defining moments.

From Tripoli to Tiananmen Square, from Belfast to Bosnia — and countless frontlines in between — Kate Adie has become renowned for her fearless, straight-talking journalism and calm reporting under pressure.

Her distinguished career has earned her an OBE, the prestigious BAFTA Fellowship and several honorary degrees.

Kate is also the author of four acclaimed books, including her autobiography, The Kindness of Strangers, alongside Corsets to CamouflageNobody’s Child and her latest work, Into Danger.

As the long-standing presenter of the BBC’s flagship radio programme From Our Own Correspondent, Kate continues to provide thoughtful reflections and unique perspectives on global events and the realities of frontline reporting in an ever-changing digital world.
