The November monthly meeting of the Wimborne Gardening Club was voted a great success, with not only the highest number of Members attending since the Club rose out of the former Wimborne Horticultural Society, but also the Horticultural Speaker Rosemary Legrand gave a very enlightening illustrated talk on ‘Spring in Japan’. The lovely photos of various gardens she had visited were splendid, vibrant, and made you feel you were there with her. Several members re-joined for the current year together with another new member, bringing the total membership to 70 members. There was also an appeal to members for additional people to join the planning group and for a new Treasurer for the Club.
The next meeting will be held on Monday, 1st December, 7.30 pm in the St. Catharines Church Hall, Lewens Lane (Rodways Corner) opposite the Quarterjack Surgery, Wimborne, when members will be able to create a Christmas tabletop decoration with Carnival Flowers giving an interactive demonstration. All materials will be provided at a cost of £20 per person. This is hands-on and a great opportunity to learn a new skill and have fun at the same time. There are still a few places left, so if you would like to take part, please send your payment of £20 via BACS to Wimborne Gardening Club, Sort Code 09-01-29, Account Number 97647399. Please put your surname and CARNIVAL in the reference box. You will need to make your bank payment by 14th November at the latest, as we cannot accept payment on the night. There will also be a Quiz for those not joining in with the Tabletop Decoration Workshop and a Christmas Buffet. All are welcome.
