Wyke Winter Art Trail

Wyke Window Art Trail will transform the village and surrounding area into a magical walking trail of illuminated window displays. The event runs from the 1st to the 7th of December. Invites residents, businesses, and organisations to decorate their windows with creativity from artwork to yarn bombing and model making and everything in between, creating a community atmosphere for all to enjoy. This year, the event is partnered with the Wyke Winter Fayre and is supported by local businesses. It will further enhance community spirit and well-being. The collective creations will form a walking trail, lighting up the streets and creating a vibrant spectacle for all to enjoy. This event aims to foster community engagement, promote mental well-being, and provide a positive and uplifting experience for everyone. Following free art workshops run in Wyke Library, Wyke Pre School, and Beaver Scouts at Ryelands Lane.

This community project has embraced the spirit of Weymouth & Portland’s Towns of Culture 2025 Award and hopefully will continue into the future

Fiona Raynes, coordinator of the Wyke Winter Walking Trail, expressed her excitement, stating, “We are delighted to introduce this new event. I was totally inspired by B-Side’s Window Wanderland a few years back, in Portland.” Fiona said, “I thought this would also work really well in Wyke as well. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together, get creative, and share this festive spirit. We are particularly grateful for the support of the folk of Wyke, Artwey, and local businesses who have already expressed their interest and kind support, which allows us to reach even more people.” A special thank you is extended to Kate Wheller, our local counsellor, for her help and guidance.”
