New Forest for Ukraine (NFFU) is inviting the community to a special Ukraine Day Hub Open Day on Monday 24 August, from 10 am–3 pm, celebrating Ukrainian Independence Day and thanking the volunteers and supporters who have stood with Ukraine for the past four and a half years.
The event at the NFFU Hub, Unit 310, Ampress Lane, Lymington, SO41 8JX, will give visitors the chance to see first-hand how humanitarian aid is sorted, packed, and prepared for Ukraine.
Visitors can tour the Hub, help pack a Baby Box, browse NFFU merchandise, write messages of hope and light a candle in remembrance of those affected by the war.
The team is also keeping its fingers firmly crossed that its 80th articulated lorry of humanitarian aid will leave for Ukraine on this special day.
The milestone comes as NFFU faces another major challenge – finding a new home for its humanitarian operation. The charity is urgently searching for suitable premises in the Lymington or New Milton area, with around 6,500 sq. ft of space, a roller door, parking, and access for articulated lorries.
NFFU Lead Mandy Haynes says: “Our location may change, but our mission will not. From our community to theirs – together we deliver hope.”
