Fans of the legendary singer-songwriter Sting and the rock band he fronted will enjoy a tribute to them both when A Tribute to Sting and The Police comes to Theatre Royal Winchester on Saturday 12 September.
This evening of well-loved music is described as the most authentic Sting tribute in Europe, packed with classics including Englishman in New York, Roxanne, Every Breath You Take, and Fields of Gold.
Audience favourites are reproduced with incredible vocal accuracy by Sting look-and-sound-alike Owen Jones, with support from his band, The Rozzers – who, having performed around the world for several years, now embark on their biggest UK tour.
Sting – or Gordon Matthew Thomas Sumner – became famous as the frontman and principal songwriter for the band, The Police, before going solo, releasing his own music, selling millions of records, winning awards, becoming one of the biggest stars on the planet and one of the most acclaimed solo songwriters of his generation.
The Police – who formed in 1977 – were popular around the world into the mid-1980s, achieving number ones here and across the pond, and winning multiple awards too.
