New DAB Radio Station Launch For Dorset

People across Dorset will now be able to enjoy a new type of radio station. Dorset Coast Radio, a brand-new DAB local radio station dedicated to serving the vibrant and diverse communities of Dorset, is now on air!. The station offers a fresh and dynamic range of programming that caters to the interests and needs of local residents and celebrates the local Dorset community.

Dorset Coast Radio will be a vital part of the community, providing a platform for local voices, music, news, and stories. It connects people and provides entertainment news and useful information, as well as showcasing the amazing work of local community groups.

The official launch on Good Friday marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for community radio in Dorset. Local people are being encouraged to tune in to experience a variety of shows, including:

Local news and events: helping people stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the area.

Music shows: playing a wide range of music from the 70’s to the current day.

Talk shows: sharing updates directly from people and organisations in our local community.

Station Manager, Andy Marlor says “We have worked hard to develop a different approach to local radio. We put the listener at the heart of what we do. This means we not only play great music but make sure that we share useful and helpful information about community events and services to make it really local and relevant.”

“We’re also inviting local community groups to get involved and share information about what they do and how they help local people. We have a dedicated show each weeknight from 7pm to showcase the best of our community across Dorset”.

People who tune in also have the chance to win a DAB radio.

Andy concludes, “We’d love lots of people to tune in to be part of our exciting new journey and experience the best of what Dorset has to offer. Together, we can build a stronger, more connected community through the power of radio”.
