People across Hampshire are invited to celebrate the beauty of the countryside at a brand-new event this summer, as CPRE Hampshire and Tilefield Nature join forces to launch their first-ever Creative Countryside Day.
Taking place on Saturday 22 August 2026, from 10 am–3 pm, at Tilefield Nature near Brockenhurst, the event will bring together creativity, nature and outdoor exploration in the heart of the New Forest.
Designed to help people of all ages enjoy connecting with the natural world, Creative Countryside Day will feature a programme of timed artist-led workshops for adults and older children plus a range of relaxed drop-in activities suitable for families and visitors of all ages.
Timed workshops, led by local artists and guides, include wild weaving, leaf landscapes, clay tile making and foraging. Visitors booking onto one of these can also enjoy general event admission.
Throughout the day, visitors can take part in activities including nature journalling, arts and crafts, puppetry and mini-beast activities, making it an ideal summer holiday outing for children and adults alike.
Children under 14 can attend free of charge with a booked ticket, helping make the event an affordable way for families to enjoy time together outdoors during the school holidays.
The event reflects a shared vision between CPRE Hampshire and Tilefield Nature: encouraging people to appreciate Hampshire’s countryside and experience it in new and creative ways.
Alison Talbot, Operations Manager at CPRE Hampshire, said: “We’re delighted to be launching our first Creative Countryside Day with Tilefield Nature in such a beautiful setting. Whether you’re an experienced artist, enjoy crafting, or simply want to spend time outdoors with family and friends, there will be something for everyone.”
Amanda Barton, Founder of Tilefield Nature, said: “We’re really looking forward to welcoming people to Tilefield Nature and sharing a day filled with creativity and discovery. It’s wonderful to be working with CPRE Hampshire on an event that celebrates our shared love of the Hampshire countryside.”
The event has been made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, whose support has enabled CPRE Hampshire and Tilefield Nature to create a programme celebrating local creativity and the natural environment.
Advance booking is essential. Timed workshop tickets cost £7.50 and include general admission. General admission tickets cost £5 and include access to all drop-in activities. Under 14’s can attend for free, although tickets must still be booked in advance.
