Local Scouts Embark on Journey to the World’s Largest Scouting Event

Nine local Scouts have been selected to represent Bournemouth, Dorset and the UK at the World Scout Jamboree 2027. This incredible international event brings together more than 50,000 young people from over 170 countries, providing participants with the opportunity to develop leadership, communication and teamwork skills while learning about different cultures and building lifelong friendships.

To attend, each participant must raise £3,200. Donations will help cover essential costs such as training, equipment and travel. They will also contribute to the Jamboree’s Solidarity Fund, which enables young people from less privileged backgrounds around the world to take part in this life-changing experience. Half of the funds raised will help make Scouting more accessible for participants from developing nations, ensuring the global Scouting family remains inclusive and diverse.

As part of their fundraising journey, the group will be taking part in a variety of community events, including local fairs, bag packing and a sponsored litter pick. Through these activities, they hope to give back to the local community while working towards their fundraising goal.

The sponsored litter pick will help make local streets, parks and public spaces cleaner and more welcoming, while demonstrating the values of Scouting through service, teamwork and responsibility. Any support, whether through sponsorship or a donation, will help these young people represent their community on the world stage.

By supporting this campaign, local residents are helping to give nine young people the opportunity to take part in a truly unforgettable global adventure while also supporting Scouts from around the world through the Jamboree’s Solidarity Fund.
