Lewis-Manning Hospice Care hosted its first-ever Wellbeing Fair at Upton Country Park on Sunday, 28 June, welcoming local people for a day focused on physical, psychological, spiritual, and social wellbeing.
The event showcased the different techniques Lewis-Manning uses to provide holistic patient care and support people to live well with life-limiting illness.
Popular sessions included Pilates, restorative yoga, Drumming for Health, The Healing Art of Healthfulness, yoga nidra, and a sound bath. Local practitioners donated their time and expertise, allowing proceeds from the sessions to support the charity.
Lewis-Manning’s Lead Complementary Therapist, Hannah Lammiman, led Wake and Shake and breathwork sessions, while Director of Clinical Services Laura Adams spoke about the concept of Total Pain and the importance of supporting every aspect of a person’s wellbeing.
Visitors also explored stalls from local organisations, took part in bath bomb-making workshops with Lush Bournemouth, and contributed to a sunflower display by sharing something that supports their wellbeing. Upton Country Park also created a Sunflower Matcha Smoothie, with a proportion of the proceeds donated to Lewis-Manning.
