The Weymouth-Louviers Society proudly hosted another remarkable official reception at Weymouth Golf Club, welcoming members of the Louviers-Weymouth twinning society from France during their official visit to the seaside town over the weekend. The vibrant gathering took place at The Hardy Bar and Restaurant on Saturday, June 7th, drawing together friends old and new to celebrate an enduring partnership spanning over 66 years.
Guests were delighted by the stunning setting, top-notch service, and delectable cuisine crafted by Restaurant Manager Danny and his dedicated team. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for an enchanting evening filled with camaraderie and cultural exchange.
Adding to the occasion, First Deputy Mayor, Councillor Anne Terlez, represented the Mayor of Louviers and delivered a heartfelt speech, highlighting the significance of the twinning initiative and expressing gratitude for the warm welcome in Weymouth. Her impassioned words resonated with attendees, further solidifying the spirit of international friendship that the society champions.
Other guests in attendance were the Deputy Mayor of Weymouth Town, Councillor Thomas Taylor, and the Mayors Chaplain, Father Scott Anderso,n who said a few words on behalf of the mayor.
As the night progressed, members and guests of all ages hit the dance floor, enjoying the lively music provided by local entertainer Seb Powles. The joyous atmosphere was palpable as friendships were rekindled and new connections were made, all while celebrating the rich history of the twinning arrangement.
