Ringwood C of E Infant School Welcomes Wildlife with Help from Team Wilder

Children at Ringwood CofE Infant School enjoyed a delightful and educational afternoon as they teamed up with Craig Whitlock from the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust’s Team Wilder. The mission? To rejuvenate the school’s flower beds and bring nature back into their school grounds.

With trowels in hand and smiles on their faces, the young pupils planted a variety of native flowers, installed bug hotels, and set up bee feeders — all designed to encourage local wildlife to thrive in the school grounds once again.

“This is such a fantastic way for the children to connect with nature and learn about the importance of biodiversity,” said Mr. Whitlock. “They’ve done a brilliant job and shown so much enthusiasm.”

The project was made possible thanks to the generous support of Mark, manager of HPS Ringwood, whose donation helped fund the materials and plants used in the revitalization effort.

Headteacher Mrs Silk expressed her gratitude: “We’re incredibly thankful to Craig and the Wildlife Trust, and especially to Mark at HPS Ringwood. This initiative not only brightens up our school but also teaches our children to care for the environment.”

The school grounds are now buzzing — quite literally — with new life, and the children are already looking forward to spotting bees, butterflies, and bugs in their newly created wildlife haven.
