The Music at HeART concert on Thursday 19 June will take place at the White Hart Hotel in Andover and features ANDREW VARLEY from Southsea.
Andrew, who is no stranger to the area, began taking a keen interest in playing the electronic keyboard at the age of thirteen and was quite happy to sit at the instrument and teach himself. However, he received help and encouragement from his father and a friend who was an established organist, although he had no idea that he would one day become a full-time professional musician.
After spending a number of years in the retail business, Andrew joined a trio local to his home, performing on keyboard, entertaining at various clubs and backing cabaret artistes at holiday parks, before he eventually turned professional.
Since then, he has been playing for dancing (including in the Andover area), for private functions, electronic keyboard clubs, and festivals throughout the UK. He can also claim international status, having also performed in Germany, Italy, and Ireland. He has made numerous recordings on a range of electronic keyboard instruments, and several tracks have been broadcast on national and regional radio stations.
The concert commences at 7.30 p.m. (with the Concert Room opening at 7.00 p.m.) with tickets at £10.00 available at the door.
