A Complete Unknown at Careys Secret Garden – a mesmerising cinematic journey set amidst stunning natural beauty, capturing an energy as fresh and resonant as his greatest songs.
The Festival has had a great start to 2025, receiving the South England Prestige Award for Best Film Festival 2024/25. This award is a testament to the dedication of its volunteers, the support of the community, and the Festival’s commitment to bringing exceptional films to extraordinary locations.
Commenting on the award and launch of this year’s summer programme, Andrea Etherington, Chair of the Festival, said, “We are thrilled to share that the Purbeck Film Festival has been recognised with the South England Prestige Award for Best Film Festival. This honour reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, accessible film experiences for both our local community and visitors alike. This year’s Summer Screenings bring together an incredible mix of films, stunning locations, and the community spirit that makes the Purbeck Film Festival so special. Whether you’re rediscovering a beloved classic or experiencing a new favourite for the first time, there’s something truly magical about watching a film under the stars.”
The Festival’s summer screenings are made possible by an incredible team of volunteers. As a not-for-profit charity, the Purbeck Film Festival relies on the support of its audience to keep the festival alive and thriving. By attending a screening, the public are not just enjoying a fantastic film— they are also supporting one of the region’s favourite film charities.
