HAVE A GO AT LAWN BOWLS!
Brockenhurst Bowling Club is holding its annual Open Day on Saturday 26th April between 10.00 – 16.00. We are keen to encourage people to try their hand at playing lawn bowls, which genuinely is a sport for all ages. A selection of bowls and a helping hand will be provided on the day: you just need to dress comfortably and bring flat-soled shoes to wear on the green. The club is at the far end of the car park in Brookley Road, opposite Tesco – look for our big green sign, walk in, give your details at the clubhouse and you’ll be ready to have a go.
We are a small members’ club affiliated to both Bowls England and Bowls Hampshire, as well as to the New Forest and Southampton Associations. This enables members to play against other clubs in leagues and competitions but for the less competitive there are also plenty of opportunities to just turn up and play informally. During winter months when the green is closed, we hold social events in the comfortable lounge and member’s bar, such as coffee mornings, skittles (sometimes against other bowling clubs), or quiz evenings.
New members are always welcome, whatever their age or bowling experience, so why not check out lawn bowls on Saturday 26th April?
