Well here we are, it’s December and I imagine many are getting into the spirit of Christmas – so if you’re feeling in good voice (or even if you’re not!) we have the annual Christmas Carol service on the quayside coming up and would be very pleased to have you join us.
Christmas Carol Service – Friday 20th December 7:30pm at Weymouth Lifeboat Station
In November we had the Christmas bazaar, which was very well supported, but in case you missed that and are still looking for some last-minute inspiration, the shop has some nice items!
This time of year tends to be a little less active (we refrain from saying qu***t!) on the water, a total of nine requests for assistance in October, but only two up to halfway through November.
Even when we don’t have many ‘shouts’, our crews undertake training and practice sessions twice a week, it’s a significant commitment. You will often see one, sometimes both, of our lifeboats; Ernest and Mabel the Severn class all-weather boat, and Jack and Phyl Cleare the Atlantic 85 inshore boat heading out of the harbour for practice exercises including joint sessions with shore-based colleagues from the local Coastguard and other emergency services.
Throughout the festive period our crews will be on duty.
Until next month, Merry Christmas from us all.
Enjoy the Water, and Stay Safe!
