Andover Choral Society Celebrates Christmas in Song

Andover Choral Society will perform two seasonal works in St Mary’s Church, Andover, on 12th December. There will be audience carols and mulled wine and mince pies at the interval.

Benjamin Britten’s St Nicolas is a popular Christmas favourite telling the tale of Nicolas, a pious example to everyone, who is called to be Bishop. He saves sailors in a storm and three young boys from a horrible death during a famine.

Celia McDowell’s Christus Natus Est is a recent interpretation of well-known carol tunes set to a Latin, French and English telling of the Nativity.

The choir will be joined by the local Anton Ensemble and welcome back tenor soloist Adrian Green.

Tickets are £16 online, free for under 16s and then £18 on the door. Tickets are available from www.ticketsource.com/andover-choral-society
