Andover Chamber Choir Presents ‘Let Heaven and Nature Sing’

From evergreen boughs and winter blooms to the stillness of midwinter, this year’s concert by Andover Chamber Choir weaves together the Christmas story with themes of creation and nature, capturing both the quiet beauty and joyful warmth of Christmastide. Seasonal readings complement the music, offering thoughtful reflections on how the natural world responds to the Nativity.

Audiences can look forward to a rich selection of choral favourites and lesser-known treasures. The evening features lively arrangements such as John Rutter’s ‘Sans Day Carol’ and David Willcocks’s arrangement of ‘The Cherry Tree Carol’, alongside serene classics such as Elizabeth Poston’s ‘Jesus Christ the Apple Tree’. Other highlights include Morten Lauridsen’s luminous ‘O magnum mysterium’ and Paul Mealor’s hauntingly delicate ‘A Spotless Rose’, as well as opportunities for the audience to join in with well-loved carols.

With its blend of ancient and contemporary works, the programme offers a welcome moment of light, celebration, and reflection in the heart of winter.

The concert takes place at 7.30 pm, Saturday 19th December 2026, at St Mary’s Church, Andover. Tickets are £15 on the door or £12 in advance from The Lights (in person and online) or through choir members. Under-16s are admitted free, and ticket prices include seasonal refreshments.

Proceeds are in aid of The Countess of Brecknock Hospice, Andover.
