Wimborne Community Theatre is looking for singers and musicians who would like to take part in a community theatre project. WCT’s forthcoming site-specific production on the theme of HOME is one of four Landmark events produced by Wimborne Town of Culture, with funding from Arts Council England.
WCT’s production will bring together a cast of local people of all ages to perform a new piece of theatre inspired by our experiences of what Home means to us, as well as the lives of historical characters who once lived in and near our town. Performances will take place in the grounds of Kingston Lacy, from September 22 – 27, at 7 pm.
Musical director, Karen Wimhurst, is keen to find individual singers/musicians or members of local choirs or bands who would like to get involved. Karen says, “This is going to be a really exciting theatrical celebration with many local people coming together to create this spectacle in this beautiful setting.”
There will be a rehearsal in late July to present the material and give everyone learning materials – recorded parts and music/words, depending on what people like. Then sessions to slot this into the action with rehearsals during the summer leading up to the performances in September. It may be possible to perform in two different groups, doing alternate nights.
If you would like to get involved, please contact julia@whitesheepprojects.co.uk to register your interest and tell us about your musical experience.
