Wimborne Minster Town Mayor, Cllr Jeff Hart, was proud to host his annual Civic Day on Wednesday 15 April, bringing together civic leaders from across Dorset for a day that celebrated the town’s heritage, creativity, and strong sense of community.
The High Sheriff of Dorset, alongside Mayors from across the county, were warmly welcomed by the Town Mayor of Wimborne Minster, Councillor Jeff Hart, accompanied by the Mayoress, Mrs Barbara Hart. They were joined by the Town Crier and Serjant, Chris Brown, whose presence added a traditional and ceremonial touch to the day’s proceedings.
The morning began with guided tours of the beautiful gardens and historic house at Kingston Lacy. Guests were treated to an engaging and informative experience, showcasing the rich history and natural beauty that make the area so special.
Following the tours, the group enjoyed lunch at The Little Pickle at the Mill, where locally prepared food provided a relaxed and welcoming setting for conversation and connection.
The day continued with a visit to Walford Mill, where guests explored a range of craft exhibitors. The visit highlighted the exceptional talent and creativity of local artisans, reinforcing Wimborne Minster’s reputation as a hub for arts and culture.
Civic Day is designed to showcase the very best of Wimborne Minster—its heritage, its people, and its thriving community spirit. The event offered an opportunity for visiting dignitaries to experience first-hand the unique character and charm of the town.
