Cabaret with Balls in Sturminster Newton – new date announced!

“Witty, wanton, wonderful – shamelessly sexy, murderously funny. You have been warned!” The Observer

Following a postponement from 29 January due to severe weather following Storm Chandra, Artsreach is delighted to confirm that Cabaret with Balls, featuring cabaret and circus performer Charlie Bicknell and operatic mezzo‑soprano Louise Innes, has been rescheduled for Thursday 26 February at The Exchange, Sturminster Newton.

Audiences in Dorset can look forward to an evening showcasing the duo’s inimitable blend of the surreal, the theatrical, and the darkly comic, as part of the programme from local charity Artsreach.

Described by critics as sharply witty, musically brilliant, and packed with extraordinary physical skill, Bicknell and Innes bring their own distinctive twist to cabaret performance. Their work blends bold humour, exceptional vocal talent, and inventive staging, creating a night of entertainment that continually surprises and delights.

“Charlie Bicknell and Louise Innes combine a gloriously dark sense of humour with amazing voices and extraordinary physical skill. A great fun night out not to be missed

The Independent on Sunday

Charlie Bicknell first became known to UK audiences as Delilah in BBC2’s This Life before taking leading roles in Ben Elton’s West End hit Popcorn, the National Theatre, Birmingham Rep, Chichester, and major TV and film projects. She later expanded into cabaret and circus, performing internationally. Louise Innes, a versatile and accomplished mezzo soprano, made her Royal Opera House debut in 2010 as Mercedes in Carmen and has since performed with major companies and venues including Covent Garden, Scottish Opera, La Scala, the Festival Hall, and even at 10 Downing Street.

Cabaret with Balls is the duo’s brilliantly irreverent escape from reality—an unpredictable mix of music, physical performance, and comedic flair. Expect everything from reimagined pop and classical favourites to clever nods to iconic cultural moments.

Although delayed by the late‑January storm, this vibrant and unforgettable show is now ready to take to the stage in Sturminster Newton on Thursday 23 February. Suitable for those aged 16+, further information and tickets are available online at www.artsreach.co.uk
