Artsreach and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra Bring Four Music Events to Rural Dorset

Dorset’s rural arts charity Artsreach is thrilled to partner with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra once more this autumn and winter, presenting music in four communities as part of its current programme.

Presented and performed by the BSO Wind Ensemble, Music for Wind Octet is a programme full of drama and exuberance, where the ensemble plays extracts from Mozart’s Don Giovanni – including the Overture, music full of the vitality and virility of the Don himself.

The BSO Wind Ensemble perform live at Gillingham School on Thursday 12 November, Lytchett Matravers Village Hall on Friday 13 November, and St Peter’s Church Portesham on Saturday 12 December.

The season of music continues with the BSO Brass Ensemble as they visit Broadwindsor Comrades Hall on Friday 11 December with Let’s Dance: From Baroque to Boogie, a programme that dances through the ages. From the ancient to the contemporary, from Baroque to boogie, Handel to Havana. The players will perform and present a programme full of toe-tapping, head-bopping delight.

These concerts are part of Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra’s On Your Doorstep programme, bringing specially designed mid-scale chamber ensembles to audiences across the region, in engaging programmes for new audiences and seasoned concert-goers alike.

Head of BSO Participate, Lucy Warren, said, “Bringing world-class music into communities is at the core of what we do – and we can’t wait to see you there!”
