Residential and care at home provider and registered charity, Care South, has shone a spotlight on the outstanding people behind its care services at its 17th annual Stars Awards.
The annual event, hosted at the Marsham Court Hotel in Bournemouth, brought together colleagues from across Care South’s homes and care-at-home offices based across Dorset, Somerset and North Devon who provide outstanding care to residents and clients. The ceremony was the second stage of the event, following local events at Care South’s homes and offices, where the finalists were announced earlier this summer. Nominations for each award were made by colleagues, residents, clients and relatives.
Hosted by Simon Bird – CEO, with assistance from Chris Kean – Chair, Phil Smith – Director of Residential Care and Martin Ross – Director of Care at Home, a host of awards were presented to staff on the frontline and those working behind the scenes. These awards included Care Home of the Year, Care South at Home Office of the Year, Carer of the Year, Newcomer, Dining Experience, Activities Team and Best Support Team to name but a few.
New for this year, the Stars Awards also featured a special category called the HEART Excellence Awards, which recognised staff who go above and beyond in exemplifying Care South’s HEART values of honesty, excellence, approach, respect and teamwork.
