A record-breaking West End drama tops the bill as Lighthouse Poole announces the latest round of new shows on sale this week.
Twelve Angry Men, which enjoyed rave reviews when it played Lighthouse in 2024, is set to return following record-breaking West End seasons that saw it hailed as “the classiest, most intelligent drama playing in the West End.” The powerful courtroom thriller follows the deliberations of a jury with murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father.
Bringing the 1957 three-time Academy Award-nominated film to the stage, it stars Gray O’Brien (Coronation Street, Peak Practice), Bill Ward (Emmerdale, Coronation Street), Ricky Norwood (EastEnders), Tristan Gemmill (Casualty, Coronation Street) and Ben Nealon (Soldier Soldier).
Elsewhere, a masterwork of psychological suspense and the inspiration for Susan Hill’s The Woman in Black, Henry James’ classic novella The Turn of the Screw is brought to life in a brand-new stage adaptation by Olivier Award-winning playwright Morgan Lloyd Malcolm (Emilia; The Wasp).
Other highlights include author and broadcaster Charlie Connelly’s Attention All Shipping – A Celebration of the Shipping Forecast. A hilarious, often moving tribute to an iconic cultural institution, it explores the remarkable history of the broadcast institution that began in 1925.
