Wimborne Minster Town Council was delighted to present its Volunteer of the Year Award for the municipal year 2025–2026 to Nicky Harper at the Mayor Making Ceremony held on Tuesday, 9 June 2026 in the Council Chamber at Wimborne Minster Town Hall.
Nicky received the award in recognition of her outstanding dedication and commitment as a volunteer with Trees of Wimborne. Through her passion for protecting and enhancing the local environment, she has made a significant contribution to the town, helping to promote tree planting, conservation, and community engagement.
The award was presented by the re-elected Town Mayor, Councillor Jeff Hart, who praised Nicky’s contribution to the community.
Councillor Hart said: “Nicky embodies the very best of community volunteering. Her enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to give her time so generously have helped make Wimborne a greener and more vibrant place. She is an inspiration to others, and it is a pleasure to recognise her contribution with this award.”
The Volunteer of the Year Award is presented annually by Wimborne Minster Town Council to recognise individuals who have gone above and beyond in serving their community through voluntary work, demonstrating the values of civic pride, kindness and public service.
Wimborne Minster Town Council extends its warmest congratulations and sincere thanks to Nicky for her continued commitment and invaluable contribution to the town.
