Blandford & Sturminster Hockey Club are the proud recipients of the South Central Best Emerging Club award, recognising their success on and off the pitch this season. On the pitch, the teams achieved remarkable results, with the Men’s side securing a second successive promotion and a Cup semi-final berth, whilst the Women matched these achievements, before going one better, winning back-to-back league titles.
Off the pitch, Blandford were recognised for their family-friendly ethos, their financial growth, thanks in part to sponsors The White Horse Pub, Stourpaine (themselves winners of The Telegraph’s Best Pub competition); Apoq, Balling and Akuma and their commitment to giving anyone who wants to pick up a stick the opportunity to do so.
