New Forest For Ukraine is calling on local businesses to help sponsor vital aid shipments as the war in Ukraine enters its fifth year, with rising transport costs putting growing pressure on the charity’s ability to deliver essential supplies.
For as little as £50, businesses can sponsor a pallet to help deliver donated medical supplies, generators, mobility aids, food, pet supplies, toiletries, and other emergency essentials directly to displaced people, hospitals and families affected by the conflict.
Several local organisations, Atomik Vodka, Brockenhurst, The Elm Tree, Hightown, Ringwood and the Southern Pointer Club have already stepped forward to support the appeal by sponsoring pallets.
The charity says escalating logistics and shipping costs are increasing the strain on its volunteer-led operation, which collects, sorts and sends humanitarian aid from its hub in Lymington to trusted partners in Ukraine.
Mandy Haynes, NFFU Lead and Events Co-ordinator, said: “Every sponsored pallet helps us deliver urgently needed aid to people living through the daily realities of war. Without support from local businesses and the wider community, many of these shipments simply would not happen. The New Forest has always shown incredible community spirit. Businesses that support these shipments are demonstrating real compassion, leadership, and social responsibility, while making a genuine difference to people who urgently need help.”
As well as helping people affected by war, the initiative offers businesses a practical and visible way to support an international humanitarian cause while strengthening community engagement and demonstrating social impact. Each donated pallet carries details of its sponsor – a message of support and compassion.
