Flower Songs for a Summer Evening

Join Southern Voices for a flower-themed concert in St John’s, Alresford on Saturday 27 June at 7.30pm with the makings of a perfect summer’s evening entertainment. The programme includes popular madrigals, well- known tunes to put a smile on your face and lots of floral delights. Benjamin Britten’s Flower Songs, alongside contemporary composer Eric Whitacre’s Flower Songs, will form the centre of the evening with Britten’s Dances from Gloriana and a must for all summer entertainment – Love Songs from Shakespeare, here composed by Owain Park.

The choir have a long-established reputation for well-crafted programmes put together by their Musical Director: Jamal Sutton. This programme will certainly be a delight.

This concert is the first of three commemorating the 50th anniversary of the death of Benjamin Britten, further concerts will be on 24 October and 19 December. Details and tickets from Southern Voices.
