Lighthouse Poole is delighted to announce actress Alison Steadman as the special guest for its latest PIPELINE: Masterclass on Wednesday 11 February.
Alison is acclaimed for her stage, television, and film roles. She first came to prominence in television plays Nuts in May and Abigail’s Party, having first originated the role of the monstrous Beverly on stage. Alison received BAFTA nominations for her roles in The Singing Detective and Fat Friends. Other television roles include Pride and Prejudice and Gavin & Stacey. On stage, she has worked at the Royal Court, Hampstead, Nottingham Playhouse, Theatre Royal Bath, and the National Theatre.
PIPELINE: Masterclass is open to all interested in new work, what actors do and how they do it, and the art of bringing life to characters, with the opportunity to ask questions of one of the country’s most celebrated actresses.
PIPELINE events are always free, but donations are welcome to support the development of new work.
PIPELINE is a series of events to help support writers and new work in Poole and the wider area. PIPELINE: Social events, held monthly, are informal sessions in the Sherling Studio and hosted by a writer for the purpose of networking, chat (both from the writing and performing point of view), and other performance writerly things! Other events, which are open to all, include presentations of new work, usually a script in hand, that bring writers and actors together. These include PIPELINE: Remix and PIPELINE: Rapid Response. We also present PIPELINE: Masterclass with acclaimed playwrights, screenwriters, actors, and all those involved in the making of new work.
With the exception of PIPELINE: Socials, which are more suited to writers and those with a professional interest in making new work, we are always looking for a general audience or those who are simply curious about writing for performance.
PIPELINE is run by Lighthouse Poole in association with Dorset Scriptwriters.
Tickets for PIPELINE: Masterclass with Alison Steadman can be booked from Friday 9 January at 10am at www.lighthousepoole.co.uk, or on 01202 280000.
