Viewfinders of Romsey Camera Club recently ran its first Scape Trophies competition. What used to be the Landscape Trophies evening has been renamed to broaden the scope of images that can be entered, not just landscapes but seascapes, cityscapes, etc. Paul Mitchell, a professional landscape photographer from Dorset, had a difficult task but eventually chose the winning images. In the print category, Stuart Bennett had an amazing evening, taking first, second, and third places with “Glen Coe”, “Buck Moon Through the Door”, and “Cumbrian Layer” respectively. Stuart also received a Seal of Merit for another print, and further Seals were awarded for prints by Mike Cox and Roy Lambeth DPAGB, EFIAP.
Hilary Henery’s “Larch Tree Reflections, Buttermere” took first place in the projected image category. David Felstead’s “High and Dry as the Storm Approaches” was second, and “Buachaille Dawn” by Peter Robertson came third. In addition to their 2nd and 3rd places, David and Peter were awarded Seals of Merit for other images; further Seals were awarded to Harry Borgerson, Tim George, and Trefor Roberts.
Viewfinders meets most Tuesday evenings at the Jubilee Hall, New Road, Timsbury, and new members, regardless of photographic experience, are always welcome. For more information, visit the club’s website at www.viewfinderscameraclub.org.uk or email secretary@viewfinderscc.org.uk
