Purbeck Christmas Tree Festival 11th – 14th December 2025

This year, the Purbeck Christmas Tree Festival will be held on Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday 13th December from 10am-6pm each day, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 160 Victoria Avenue, Swanage. There is also a special Remembrance Service called ‘Lights of Love’ at 4pm on Sunday 14th December. If you want to come to a gentle reflective service and light a candle for loved ones who are no longer with us, please do come and join us.

There will be a warm welcome, and everyone can wander through the trees, enjoy seasonal refreshments, listen to local talented musicians and singers, with activities for children of all ages, and stories in the stable for the younger children. This year, the theme is Christmas Around the World. There is no entrance fee, but any donations will go to local charities. This year, we are supporting Julia’s House and also raising money for the Dorset Air Ambulance.

Once again, from the start of December, we will have a Tree of Remembrance outside of Emmanuel Baptist Church on which people can put named ribbons of loved ones they wish to remember at Christmastime.

There is also the St Aldhelm’s Christmas Tree Festival at St George’s Church in Langton Matravers, over the first weekend of December. For further details, contact Sandy Garner on 01929 424431 or email sandy@gizimodo.co.uk

May these events bring us all joy as we celebrate the real meaning of Christmas, the birth of our Saviour, Jesus Christ, in Bethlehem, over 2000 years ago. He is still changing lives these days, so do explore this amazing story for yourselves, and also have an opportunity to discover how Jesus’s birth is celebrated around the World.
