Poole, Purbeck and District Soroptimist Club is part of a worldwide women’s organisation which works to help women and girls locally, nationally, and internationally. Currently, the members help to support the Women’s Refuge and survivors of human trafficking locally. They have also created a booklet to help victims of domestic violence in Dorset to find the support they need. Further afield, they sponsor a girl’s education in Africa and are helping women in very poor parts of the world to earn a living for their families by setting up their own very small businesses in areas including dressmaking, farming, and forestry.
The club would love to have more women join them, and can offer friendship with like-minded women as well as the opportunity to work together to make a difference to the lives of women and girls everywhere. You are invited to come and find out more on Saturday 6th September between 11am and 1pm. Coffee and cake will be provided, and the event will take place at the Royal British Legion club in Tudor Road, Broadstone, BH18 8AW. For more information about the club, you can visit sigbi.org/poole-purbeck or phone 07773 593602.
