An exciting new partnership for 2025 benefiting local young people in Ringwood!

This Summer will see a new partnership between the Ringwood & District Round Table and Community Interest Company – Ethical Activities CIC.

Ethical Activities CIC have delivered a hugely successful free kayak club for the past 3 years, in collaboration with Carvers Clubhouse. Ringwood & District Round Table are very excited to be the new partner in providing the funding for the newly named ‘Ringwood Kayak Kids’, to enter into its fourth consecutive year.

The Ringwood & District Round Table is a local organisation focused on encouraging young men to engage positively with their community, build friendships, and prioritise their mental health. Their mission directly addresses key issues such as loneliness, but also focuses on community service, personal development and promoting goodwill. The Round Table do a huge amount to support the local community in Ringwood and surrounding areas by organising events, fundraising, and providing essential support to local groups.

Rich Levell Ringwood & District Round Table Chairman “We are incredibly proud to partner with Ethical Activities CIC to support the Ringwood Kayak Kids. This initiative perfectly aligns with the Round Table’s mission to engage young men in positive community action, foster new friendships, and crucially, promote mental well-being. Providing opportunities for young people to connect with nature, build confidence, and reduce social isolation is vital, and we believe this club will make a real difference in the lives of many local youngsters.”

Ethical Activities is a Community Interest Company, meaning all profits have to be reinvested in the local community. This adventure-based company believes all young people should have equal access to the outdoors and all the incredible, life-changing benefits the outdoors can bring.

Tom Foster, Director at Ethical Activities CIC, said, “Our new sponsorship is continuing the fantastic work that the programme has delivered over the last 3 years. The impact from previous years on the young people taking part has been huge and in some cases, life-changing. We are so excited to see the club enter its fourth year and beyond with this new partnership and are really grateful to the Ringwood & District Round Table for making it possible. We also want to say a special thank you to the Greyfriars Community Centre, who are providing volunteering support to this project for the fourth year running.”

The Ringwood Kayak Kids is for 9 – 15-year-olds, and is aimed at local young people who would otherwise not have access to an activity like this. It allows them the opportunity to immerse themselves in local nature, learn new skills, build confidence, and break social barriers – all leading to a reduction in anti-social behaviour, a greater sense of community, and overall widening their opportunities in life.

The Ringwood Kayak Kids will be taking place every Wednesday evening throughout the school summer holidays, and will be held at local Spinnaker Lakes. Greyfriars minibus and the Greyfriars team of volunteers will be kindly providing the transport from central Ringwood to Spinnaker Lakes, to ensure this activity is as accessible as possible.
