Weymouth Drama Club – Abigail’s Party

First of all, thank you for coming to this year of the Towns of Culture to first our Pantomime! Treasure Island was great fun for us all, and then we had the Accidental Death of an Anarchist, a sell-out success! Well, next up is the iconic Abigail’s Party.

Mike Leigh’s classic of suburban boredom and aspiration set in the 70’s speaks to a whole generation of striving consumers. At its heart is domineering hostess Beverly, who forces drinks and nibbles on her guests; she’s forever on the verge of swaying – either to the music or from one too many gin and tonics – but beneath this, there are occasional glints of something harder.

Tickets are selling fast for the show, which is on at The Bay Theatre from Wednesday, 25th June to Saturday, 28th June. Tickets at weymouthdramaclub.com

There will be more to come in October in a really productive year for the Drama club.

As always, if you want to get involved with these or other shows, we are always looking for new members – have a look at the website. Also, if you have youngsters looking to join our junior section, we have places in many age groups – again, details on the Website.
