Moyles Court School Litter Pick 2025 New Forest

We are thrilled to share the latest endeavours of our wonderful Moyles Court School Eco Squad and junior school pupils, who have been putting their green thumbs and big hearts to work in our local community. On Thursday, 24th April, our enthusiastic young environmentalists took part in our bi-annual litter pick event, which was a resounding success!

With great excitement and determination, we ventured into the beautiful New Forest, focusing on the areas surrounding our school and a local favourite, The Sandpit. Armed with litter-picking tools kindly lent to us by New Forest District Council, our diligent team gathered a staggering five large bin bags of rubbish. Among the various finds were used nappies, a car number plate, picnic crockery, and several plastic bottles.
One of the more disheartening discoveries was the large number of discarded dog poo bags. Even though some are biodegradable, many are not, which is concerning for our environment. We hope that bringing this to light will encourage more responsible behaviour among dog walkers in our community.

We are extremely proud to be nurturing young citizens who care deeply about their environment. Their hard work and commitment are what earned Moyles Court School the prestigious Green Flag Accreditation with distinction in July 2024, and we are eagerly preparing to apply again this year!

Looking ahead, we’re excited to invite everyone to join us at the Ringwood Eco Fair on Saturday, 10th May, for our 3rd Big Book Giveaway. This wonderful event offers an opportunity to donate any books you no longer use and discover new stories to enjoy. Our aim is to inspire a love of reading in everyone, ensuring there are no barriers to accessing books.
Book donations can be delivered to the school -attention of Mrs Potter -or on the day.
