Brockenhurst Music Society

We’re excited to launch our 2025 season, our 78th season of bringing great music to the New Forest. Details of our concerts are below, all given by young highly talented professional musicians and held at St Saviour’s Church, Brockenhurst at 7.00 pm.

Monday 19th May – Goethe String Quartet, a critically acclaimed international ensemble, playing works by Haydn, Schumann, and Beethoven.

Monday 9th June – Gerard Flotats (cello) and Julian Chan (piano), a prize-winning Catalan cellist combines with an innovative pianist and composer, to play works by Bach, Beethoven, Suk, and Chopin.

Monday 21st July – Toby Cook (viola) and Victor Lim (piano), Toby is an award-winning viola player who performs across Europe and will combine with Victor, born in Korea and a gold medal winner at the RNCM, to play works by Schubert, Schumann, Brahms and Bridge.

Thursday 28th August – Rose Gosney (violin) and Duncan Honeybourne (piano), Rose is an exceptionally gifted young violinist, having been the leader of the National Youth Orchestra and a BBC Young Musician of the Year quarter-finalist, and will be accompanied by the colourful pianist and music educator Duncan Honeybourne.

Monday 15th September – The Portrait Players, Claire Ward (soprano), Kriistina Watt (lute, theorbo), and Miriam Nohl (cello, viola da gamba) will perform works by Dowland, Purcell, Johnson and contemporaries exploring songs inspired by Shakespeare and bringing that era to life for a modern audience.
