A local man recently found inspiration in poetry, leading him to write over 20 poems reflecting on themes such as love, loss, and life’s simple pleasures. Among these works is a poignant tribute to his late wife, Gail, a beloved Romsey resident for over 35 years, who sadly passed away from cancer in 2019.
The first of several planned anthologies by Leo Patrick has now been privately printed and published in her memory. This first collection named “Grasp Each Sunrise” and dedicated to Gail is available for purchase at the Jane Scarth House charity shop in Latimer Street, Romsey. All proceeds will be donated to Jane Scarth House, which provided care and support to the author and his wife during her illness.
The anthology offers an eclectic mix of poems ranging from the bittersweet experiences of losing a father and grandfather to the heartwarming tale of his son’s relationship with Lego. It also includes light-hearted reflections on life’s essential skills, such as dunking biscuits in tea.
This heartfelt project directly benefits the Romsey community, with all proceeds going to support a local cause. The anthology is available to purchase at the Jane Scarth House charity shop for £9.50 for those who wish to make a meaningful difference while enjoying a diverse collection of poetry.
