Intergalatic Fun at Camp Bestival 2024

Camp Bestival, located in Wareham, returned for its 16th year headlined by some amazing acts including McFly, James Arthur, and Paloma Faith! The festival is held annually, in July, at Lulworth Castle and is a four-day, family-friendly event. This year’s theme was ‘Intergalactic, Aliens, and Space’ which saw some amazing costumes from kids as well as adults!

McFly took the stage on Friday night and gave a spectacular performance. Everyone got involved with singing along to their hits ‘Obviously’ and ‘Shine a Light!’ Gok Wan also performed a brilliant DJ set, playing all the best 90s hits which had all the parents in their element!

There were also some CBBC classics including Dick and Dom from ‘Dick & Dom in Da Bungalow’ which was broadcasted during the early 2000s. They played an entertaining DJ set that got everyone up and dancing! Hacker T Dog & Katie Thistleton who presented CBBC also performed an unforgettable DJ experience, playing all the classic CBBC shows theme tunes.

Paloma Faith danced the night away on Saturday, performing an unforgettable show. She sang plenty of songs off her new album, ‘Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful’, alongside many of her classic hits. The Magic Numbers also performed on Saturday evening. Again, this was another one the parents loved!

As well as fantastic live music, the event held entertaining workshops and dance classes. Silent discos also took place into the early hours of the morning, which was brilliant for all the partygoers! It was a battle of the Green or Red DJ as partiers switched between stations on their headphones. But ultimately, it ended with everyone singing to Sweet Caroline like true Brits!

The festival also wasn’t short of food options. From pizzas to Budha bowls, to pies, and brownies, they had it all. You could find something tasty for everyone!

The weekend ended with an outstanding firework display behind Lulworth Castle alongside Pete Tong’s DJ set. What a way to head out with a bang!

Overall, the festival was the perfect mix of entertainment for the children, music for parents, and fun for party lovers! We can’t wait to be back next year Camp Bestival!
