Weymouth ladies cricket team is a fantastic way for females to learn how to play cricket in a fun and supportive environment and a great way to meet new people.
Weymouth cricket club’s main goal this year was to get more females playing cricket locally and so far it has been highly successful.
Most weeks, someone new comes down to try cricket for the first time and by the end, they’ve been welcomed by everyone and have already started developing skills.
Every player brings their own gifts to the team and are always having a laugh together. The club offers training sessions led by fantastic coaches who are supportive and patient.
Russ, one of the coaches for the team, says:
“It has been an absolute pleasure to be involved. Their willingness to improve has seen them improve at each and every game and training session and that comes down to the attitude they drive with. I can’t see why our bright orange army can’t get even bigger and better in years to come!”
Another coach, Andy, adds:
“It started with only a few attendees but members have steadily grown and we now have enough ladies for 2 teams! The enjoyment and enthusiasm shown has been a joy to watch and having a good time is the main aim of the team. I look forward to seeing it grow and expand.”
Helen, a player for Weymouth ladies, commented:
“I felt part of the team instantly and encouragement is incredible across the board. I just wish I’d discovered this team years ago.”
It’s doesn’t matter your age or experience, come down and give it a go. Training sessions are every Wednesday from 5:30-6:30 at Redlands or to find out more information, contact Weymouth cricket club at 01305 813113.
