Romsey is alive with the sound of music this summer; you are completely spoilt for choice! You can enjoy free Tuesday lunchtime recitals in Romsey Abbey or if you prefer alfresco, Sunday afternoons there are bandstand concerts in Romsey Memorial Park.

We are pleased to share the news that Michelmersh Silver Band will be commemorating the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in music and reminiscence with their ‘D-Day 80’ concert on Sunday 23 June at 3pm; including a piper as tribute to The Cape Breton Highlanders, Canadian troops that used the MSB hall as a Mess Hall in the build up to D-Day.

June sees the arrival of the Romsey Chamber Music Festival, entitled ‘Of Love and Madness’. Over the week of 24 – 30 June Romsey Chamber Music welcomes an international line up of world class musicians to Romsey to share a week of chamber music magic. Highlights include a Shakespeare themed concert including Tchaikovsky Romeo and Juliet, a late-night concert, world-renowned baritone Thomas Guthrie sings Schubert Die Schöne Müllerin and a relaxed family concert where everyone is invited to enjoy excerpts from the festival programme on a pay-what-you-wish basis.

Don’t forget music and dance takes over Romsey when the 30th Beggars Fair returns on Saturday 13 July, enjoy over 70 acts in the free Summer Music Festival.
