What are you up to this week?
How about writing a 500-word story for a Short Story Writing Competition?
The theme is the murder of King Edward the Martyr, which took place at Corfe Castle back in 978AD – Dorset in the Dark Ages. Who saw it happen? Whose lives were touched? What happened to them? We’re looking for adventures and secrets, miracles and mischief, colourful characters and timeless truth. There’s 5 age categories, and its open to everyone living in Dorset. The 10 winners won’t just get a £50 cash prize and published in our booklet….their story might get even adapted for the stage!
Inspired by Chaucer, ‘The Shaftesbury Tales’ is a collection of stories – both written and performed. Performers from Treehouse Theatre will be walking from Corfe Castle to Shaftesbury in July, from village to village, teaming up with local theatre groups to perform hilarious and interactive community shows along the way.
Closing date 18th March!
