Weymouth’s, Af Marseh Reaches Number 1 Best Seller with Cancer Memoir.
Celebrating a best seller, local author Af Marseh’s poignant memoir “Tumorous Hesticles Just Say Cancer” has climbed its way to the top of the charts, reaching the Number 1best seller position. The book, deeply rooted in Dorset’s landscapes, offers an intimate look into the emotional and physical challenges faced by young men diagnosed with cancer.
Af Marseh’s journey begins with an exhilarating experience at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, quickly swapping the vibrant backdrop of Brazil to the quieter corridors of Dorchester, Winterbourne, and Poole hospitals in Dorset. There are also gripping stories of an adventurous rock-climbing incident at Pulpit Rock, days before an intense chemotherapy regimen, as well as seeking reflection by Durdle Door.
Tumorous Hesticles: Just Say Cancer was published on October 24th and went straight to the best seller number 1 book in Oncology, number 2 in Humour Doctors and Medicine (just behind Dawn French’s memoir), and also number 1 in Mover and Shakers, which is the most rank gained of any book on Amazon in 24 hours.
Af Marseh has spent nearly four years putting the book together to support other people going through cancer treatment. It has given support and knowledge to people in the support networks of those affected too. Af has so far donated over 100 books to local hospitals and charities. Including Dorchester County Hospital, Macmillan Centres and a number of cancer charities. Books have been donated to chemotherapy wards in Devon, Bristol, Poole, Southampton and as far as Kent.
“I hope this book will be the perfect companion for anyone that has been affected by cancer and that includes the support networks of those involved. This will support the Mums, Dads, Sibling, friends and colleagues of people going through a cancer treatment. There are numerous South West references from Durdle Door to Portland Bill, and Dorset County Hospital to Poole Chemotherapy Wards,” said Af Marseh.
Adding to the book’s acclaim, Trekstock, a renowned Young Adults Cancer Charity, remarked, “Af shines a light on the realities of cancer, with wit and realism. A must-read for young people and families going through something similar.” The book has also received praise from a number of cancer specialists and doctors across the country.
“Tumorous Hesticles – Just Say Cancer” is available as a paperback and on Kindle. It can be found on amazon.co.uk by searching “Tumorous Hesticles Just Say Cancer by Af Marseh”.
Af’s narrative and jocular tone captures a myriad of reactions from friends and family, ranging from denial and anger to acceptance. The “You Got This” campaign, initiated by his sister, has garnered significant support locally and internationally, drawing attention from notable celebrities like Anthony Joshua, Adam Lallana and Dame Kelly Holmes.
Tumorous Hesticles is about resilience, advice, and candid perspectives on cancer, making it supportive reading for anyone affected by cancer, including the families and friends of those going through the most turbulent time.
